1 answers shown At the very least, if you start your exercise from the phone app while your phone GPS is enabled, then it should use your phones GPS (I confirmed this recently on my fitbit).Make sure permissions are set to allow locations services for the app as well. Fitbit recommends setting this to "allow all the time", otherwise the fitbit may use the built in GPS. The GPS type is determined at the start of the exercise and will not switch between the Fitbit and phone during. According to the fitbit website you should be able to change the GPS type in the settings menu (On Charge 4, open the Settings app > GPS Settings > tap to update a setting) but at this time i do not see these settings on the device.
